UPDATE: Hard Drive Failures

We have successfully moved over to the Amazon Web Services and are recording there after our issue over the weekend.  Today (Monday July 1) the recordings are taking forever to process due to us not increasing the processing power.  We cannot increase this until later this evening, but once we do the long waiting time will go away.

The Musers, for example, has taken 4 hours and is almost completed.  The other shows aren’t as long, but expect processing time to be slower than normal today and we should be back in business tomorrow.

Again, we apologize for the headache.  Our new Amazon Web Services setup will greatly improve our ability to make changes and fixes on the fly.  We like to think of this as growing pains!

Cheers

Hard Drive Failures

Late Friday afternoon, 6/28/19, we had 2 hard drives fail on one of our servers.  This has caused many recordings to be hung in the processing state.  We recovered the server but several other issues started revealing themselves.  We have been in the progress of migrating over to the Amazon Web Services to ensure these type of issues no longer come up since they have hardware at the ready if anything does happen.

We are in the process of moving everything over the the AWS environment this weekend to resume recordings there.  All KTCK The Ticket shows will be restored, but unfortunately, other late Friday shows and weekend shows appear to have not recorded.  We are working to get this resolved ASAP.

We do apologize for this and expect these issues to be a think of the past once we’ve migrated over to AWS.

Credit Card Expired – Need Account Back

We have this request quite a bit so felt it needed to have its own post.  If you have a card that has expired, bank sent you a new card or for whatever reason your account was downgraded to a free account, this is what you need to do to get things back.

If you were subscribed to the Ticket archives with a P1 Personal:

  • Login to https://dash.usave.it/
  • Click the “Upgrade Account” on the dash home page
  • You should see P1 Personal (if you don’t, email support@)
  • Click the “Select” button at the bottom of the P1 Personal box
  • You will then see all of the options for this account with pricing
  • Select the shows you want to subscribe to
  • Then you will enter your new billing information
  • Once you successfully upgrade, the shows you selected will appear
  • No need to record the shows you select since they will appear
  • You’ll have access to all past shows back to September of 2011
  • Commercial free shows only have a few years that are archived
  • If you use a podcast player and they are not showing up, you might need to update the podcast url you previously gave them.  In the dash, click on FEEDS > MANAGE PODCAST FEEDS.

If you were subscribed to the Basic, Personal, Professional or Enterprise:

  • Login to https://dash.usave.it/
  • Click the “Upgrade Account” on the dash home page
  • Select the account type you want to get back to by clicking the SELECT button
  • You will see the pricing and will be able to enter billing information
  • Once you successfully upgrade, email support@ if it has only been within a few days about restoring your recordings.  When your account is downgraded, all recordings will be purged and we can recover them within a few days of this happening.  If it goes too long, those recordings will be lost.

If you did not receive daily emails about your card declining, you need to make sure your email account is receiving our system messages.  We will email you 5 days in a row letting you know your billing is not going through and you are about to be downgraded.

Recordings on October 25th

We had an issue come up on Thursday October 25th causing a backup of recordings.  We resolved the issue late in the evening and are still getting everything processed.

The backup also caused a space issue, so there could be some instances of partial recordings.  KTCK recordings should be fully published.  Other recordings, if not complete, we apologize for the inconvenience.

iOS 12 Update Notice

If you use the uSave.it iOS app to listen to your recordings, it has broken a few aspects of our player on certain phones.  The main item is the ability to slide the player to a desired time of the recording. We’re still gathering info on which phones are affected and will update as we get this.

Phones affected:

  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus

Phones NOT affected:

  • iPhone X

We are researching the issue and plan to correct this, but in the meantime, if you have an account type that gives you a podcast feed, we suggest installing the Overcast.fm podcast player app (it’s free), and dropping your podcast url into that player.

If you are unsure if you have a podcast feed, login to https://dash.usave.it/ and click on the FEEDS link and then the MANAGE PODCAST FEEDS.  They will be listed on this page if you have them.

The following account types typically do NOT have podcast feeds enabled:

  • Free Accounts
  • Basic Accounts
  • Personal Accounts

The following account types typically DO have podcast feeds enabled:

  • P1 Personal Accounts
  • Professional Accounts
  • Enterprise Accounts

For those that do not have the option to use a podcast feed, you can skip forward and backwards with the jump forward and back buttons on the player.  It’s not as fast, but those still work.  We hope to get this corrected soon.
